What FNSKU means
FNSKU stands for Fulfilment Network Stock Keeping Unit. It is a barcode Amazon assigns to your specific listing so FBA warehouses can track it as yours, separate from the UPC or EAN printed by the manufacturer.
Why you cannot skip it
If you send FBA inventory without the FNSKU label, or with the wrong barcode showing, Amazon may commingle your stock with another seller's listing of the same product, which causes returns and complaints to land on the wrong seller.
How sellers generate it today
- Open the FBA shipment in Seller Central and choose "Print item labels".
- Print on a label sheet or a thermal roll at the size Seller Central suggests for that product.
- Stick it next to the manufacturer barcode, not over it, so both remain scannable.

What is an FNSKU?

Why can I not just use the manufacturer barcode?
Amazon FBA scans the FNSKU to route and store inventory correctly. Without it, or with a UPC in its place, units can get commingled with another seller's stock under Amazon rules that allow it.
Where do I get the FNSKU barcode?
Amazon Seller Central generates it for each FBA listing under the item label. You print it and apply it to every unit before sending inventory in.
Can SellerLabel generate FNSKU barcodes?
Not yet. This page is a guide while we build that tool. For now, print labels directly from Seller Central or an existing LPN and FNSKU print tool.
What label size does Amazon expect?
A small sticker, commonly around 1 x 2 inches to 2 x 1 inches depending on the product, placed so it does not cover the original manufacturer barcode.
